Orca Whale Printmaking Workshop
Special Fundraiser to benefit the Center for Whale Research
Saturday, March 30, 2019
Included all materials and a glass of Northwest Wine
Come together to learn about research being done to protect Southern Resident orca whales. Enjoy time creating art while raising funds to benefit the Center for Whale Research. Learn how to make a linoleum block print based on the inspiration of orca whales and their habitat in the Salish Sea. Sketch your design, then apply it to a block. Carve lines, texture and imagery into soft linoleum as you discover how to create a dynamic composition with dark and light. Have fun printing your image using ink and brayers onto a variety of beautiful papers suitable for cards or framed art for you to take home.
We are thrilled to announce that Katie Jones, Education and Outreach Manager for the Center for Whale Research will kick off both
workshops with a photo presentation. Learn about orcas and the latest news from the CWR where scientists and volunteers have studied and interacted with the whales for over forty years!
