8 Weeks, Tuition: $285
This spring we will return to our focus on landscape painting in both representational and semi-abstract compositions. There will be two opportunities for plein air painting, including a day trip to the Skagit Valley, weather permitting. Learn to use transparent, opaque and staining pigments to mix harmonious palettes and develop your own rich tapestries of darks, lights, warm and cool colors. Practice quick gestural paintings to capture the essence of your subject, as well as detailed studies based on observation and inspiration from master painters. Students may incorporate mixed media: walnut ink, pastel and graphite.
